Sandyprints was founded in 2001 and has been based in Lane Cove West since 2003. Last year sandyprints celebrated 25 years, participating in the inaugural year of Photo Sydney at Sydney Contemporary 2025. sandyprints has printed some of Australia’s most iconic photographic fine artists including Narelle Autio, Brook Andrew, Anne Ferran, Simryn Gill, the late Rosemary Laing, Tracey Moffat, David Moore, Lewis Morley, Ian North, Trent Parke, Justine Varga, Justene Williams, Anne Zahalka. Sandra (Sandy) Barnard, the printer behind sandyprints, herself has been printing for more than 40 years. Sandy has a keen interest in alternative printing techniques and has worked with hundreds of artists to create the best quality archival prints to showcase their work. In 2021, Sandy began to make her own photographic practice, exhibiting her first body of work ‘on the film plane and in the bellows’ at group show ‘Suspended Scenery: Three Approaches to Landscape’ alongside photographic artists Jun Chen and Kurt Sorensen at Gaffa Gallery in 2021. Sandy continues to create works, building worlds within the enlarger, onto various photographic mediums. In 2025 showed works from That would look good in my enlarger at Photo Sydney.
