Litsa Veldekis is a leading Sydney-based Art Advisor and respected figure in the Australian art market, with a career defined by strategic leadership, record-breaking sales, and a deep commitment to contemporary art. With decades of experience across the auction and advisory sectors, she brings a rare combination of market insight, curatorial vision, and trusted expertise to her practice.
In 2011, Litsa established Bonhams’ Australian and International Art department, serving as Head of Art until 2014. In this role, she was instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic vision within the Australian market. During her tenure, Bonhams secured the landmark sale of “The Reg Grundy Collection,” achieving $19 million and setting a benchmark as the largest single-owner collection ever sold in Australia.
Prior to this, in 2010 as CEO of Menzies, Litsa oversaw the sale of Sidney Nolan’s First-Class Marksman (1946), which achieved $5.4 million when acquired by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, then a record price for an Australian artwork.
In 2023, Litsa founded her own advisory and gallery in Woollahra, Sydney, presenting a curated program of solo and group exhibitions alongside site-specific activations. Her practice also facilitates private treaty sales, offering discreet and strategic pathways for collectors.
With deep expertise in collection development, deaccessioning, and acquisitions, she provides tailored advice to private collectors, institutions, and corporate clients.
Litsa Veldekis currently serves on the board of Liverpool Powerhouse, is President of the Art Consulting Association of Australia and a member of MCA Next.
