Where to Stay

Sydney Contemporary week is one of the best excuses to visit Sydney – or to finally play tourist in your own city.

Our hotel partners are offering exclusive rates for Fair visitors, whether you’re flying in or simply making a night of it. Rooms fill fast during Fair week, we recommend you book early.

Ace Hotel Sydney

Ace Hotel Sydney lives in a rejuvenated, hundred-year-old Heritage Federation Warehouse building — home to the first brick kiln in Australia. Inspired by the vibrant neighbourhood, Ace Sydney is a communal space that offers casual, considered accommodations, designed with care by Flack Studio. Drawing inspiration from architect Robin Boyd’s paradigm-shifting book, The Australian Ugliness, the paintings of Indigenous Australian artist Albert Namatjira and the building site’s legacy of pottery and ceramic creation, Flack Studio has conjured a hotel that’s a deep homage to Australia. Inside the hotel, find original pieces by celebrated Australian artists, including Nadia Hernandez, Nell, Julia Gutman, Jason Phu and more.

Nestled against the CBD in Surry Hills, Ace is easily accessible by bus and train, and just a 9-minute drive to Carriageworks, or a 25 minute walk.

There are four dining options at Ace Hotel Sydney: Kiln, The Lobby, LOAM, and Good Chemistry.

Kiln is the crown of Ace Hotel Sydney, situated 18 stories above Surry Hills.

The Lobby offers craft cocktails, wines by the glass and beers in addition to snacks and shareable small plates.

LOAM serves up essential elements that breathe life into all pleasures. LOAM is about staying connected to what matters and serving up the best ingredients for a better product.

Good Chemistry is an airy café with ample seating, opening right up onto the laneway. The café’s name recalls the space’s former life as the factory of Soul Pattinson Chemists. It is open daily for dine-in or takeaway, serving a refined selection of breakfast dishes, freshly baked pastries, market salads and sandwiches

Created in collaboration with some of Australia’s leading architects, designers and makers, the hotel celebrates thoughtful craftsmanship and contemporary Australian expression, with interiors and artworks woven throughout the guest experience.
