An All-Encompassing Evening
Catch performances throughout the evening by the most cutting edge contemporary artists, listen to a special music showcase by Sydney-based DJ and Producer Stereogamous, get lost in large scale works in Installation Contemporary and of course see and enjoy works of art by over 500 emerging and established artists across 95+ galleries at Carriageworks!
Performance Contemporary
Art Night presemnts 3 performance works, by Riana Head-Toussaint, Amala Groom, and Fetu Taku. Toussaint will project her work Animate Loading alongside a performance incorporating bodycam, drone work, and surveillance-style cinematography. Wiradyuri conceptual arts and cultural practitioner Amala Groom will perform RED TAPE, a durational performance where Groom corporeally negotiates the bureaucracy of the imposition of third-dimensional reality on her spiritual and physical bodies by wrapping herself in 44 rolls of red electrical tape and then jumping through a hoop. Fetu Taku will perform a newly commissioned work fusing elements of her practice together into a piece that explores community, and equitable spaces for diverse bodies.
Music
Stereogamous DJ Jonny Seymour has worked with a range of musicians, artists and institutions over the past twenty-five years in dance, film, fashion, theatre, song and experimental art. He will create a bespoke musical program to celebrate contemporary art over the evening at Art Night.
