Founded in 2024, Syrup Contemporary (Gadigal/Sydney) is a commercial gallery dedicated to platforming conceptually driven practices that challenge conventions and expand dialogues around contemporary practices. Our program prioritises artists whose work engages critically with social, political and cultural narratives and who place material knowledge at the forefront of artistic concerns. We have a commitment to support emerging and mid-career artists, fostering long-term relationships that allow for sustained development and ambitious projects. Alongside exhibitions, we produce publications, public programs and collaborative projects that extend conversations beyond the gallery space.

Established in 1961 showcasing national and international communities, collaborations and exchanges. Spanning more than 60 years and having 60 of the finest printmakers working in Australia today, Sydney Printmakers explores all traditional and contemporary forms of printmaking. A reputation for excellence in printmaking is a testament to the collective abilities of its members. The group has continually engaged with the national and international print communities through exhibitions, collaborations and exchanges. This has included many exhibitions throughout Australia and internationally, including New Zealand, Canada, China, Chile, Norway and Japan. Sydney Printmakers’ portfolios are held in the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Australia. Sydney Printmakers was formed sixty-five years ago and continues to evolve in a contemporary art context.
Swan River Print Studio (SRPS) is an artist-run Western Australian not-for-profit organisation supporting contemporary printmaking in WA.
The studio provides shared professional facilities for fifteen members and access for WA artists working in intaglio, relief and artist books. Through specialist equipment, mentoring, peer learning and workshops with interstate master artists, SRPS sustains professional practice and national engagement.
PARKER Contemporary is a Brisbane-based commercial gallery located in the Fish Lane Arts Precinct within South Bank, adjacent to Brisbane’s Cultural Centre including QAGOMA, the State Library of Queensland, and QPAC, the gallery presents a regular program of exhibitions that foreground print and paper as material and conceptual sites of enquiry.
Founded and directed by Emily Parker, a graduate of the Queensland College of Art and Design at Griffith University and The University of Queensland, PARKER Contemporary has quickly established a reputation as a leading gallery for printmaking, papermaking and artist books in Australia. Since opening in 2024, the gallery has presented more than twenty exhibitions and exhibited internationally, while building strong relationships with collectors, artists, and institutions.
The gallery represents both emerging and established artists whose practices centre on print and paper-based processes, including intaglio, relief, lithography, handmade paper, and sculptural approaches to paper. Mentoring and supporting artists is central to the gallery’s program and fosters the development of rigorous practices and long-term artistic careers. Through its exhibition program and art fair presentations, the gallery actively contributes to the growing national recognition and collectability of contemporary print and paper-based practices.
Founded on the premise that print is not a secondary practice but a primary way of thinking through the world, PARKER Contemporary continues to expand how these practices are understood, valued, and collected within contemporary art.
Works by represented artists are held in collections including QAGOMA, the National Gallery of Victoria, the State Library of Queensland, The British Library, and Harvard University’s Widener Memorial Library. In 2026 the gallery was also featured in Art Collector magazine’s “50 Things Collectors Should Know.”
PARC Editions is an artist-run gallery dedicated to contemporary printmaking and works on paper. The gallery operates in close dialogue with PARC (Print Art Research Center), a printmaking workshop established by master printer Chunwoo Nam, where collaborative print production and technical research have been developed over many years.
Rooted in the collaborative nature of printmaking, PARC Editions functions as both a studio and exhibition platform. Our program brings artists and master printers together to develop contemporary editions and works on paper, supporting experimentation across traditional and innovative printmaking techniques while maintaining a strong respect for craft.
Through exhibitions, edition publishing, and participation in international art fairs, PARC Editions seeks to expand the visibility of printmaking as a dynamic contemporary medium while introducing Korean artists to a broader international audience.
For over 30 years, Sydney based Open Bite Printmakers (Inc) has been actively engaged in diverse and exciting printmaking, embracing a variety of techniques and styles from traditional to digital.
Since our first show in 1992, we have held regular exhibitions locally and in regional galleries in New South Wales, maintaining a high standard of work, sometimes holding workshops or presentations to promote knowledge of printmaking to the wider community. Many of our members are award winning artists and have exhibited internationally. The Open Bite group participated in the Impact 10 International Printmaking Conference held in Spain in 2018, was accepted into Impact 11 in Hong Kong two years later and Impact 12 which was held in Bristol, UK in 2022, as well as the Mokuhanga Conference in Japan. We exhibited at Sydney Contemporary in 2019, online during the Covid pandemic in 2020 and 2021, and we returned to Carriageworks in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Our artists regularly collaborate and engage with artistic directors, curators and commissioners from art museums, regional galleries, universities, festivals and other arts organisations to participate in their programming and projects. We know our artists are professionals who make a vital contribution to our communities and our economy.
New Books/Old Hands is the second appearance of Jan Davis and selected artists’ book colleagues at Sydney Contemporary PAPER. In 2026, books by Alison Alder, Marian Crawford, Jan Palethorpe, and Jenny Kitchener join the table.
The artists are scattered geographically across Australia; Alder near Canberra, Davis and Kitchener in Northern NSW, Crawford in Melbourne, and Palethorpe in Central Victoria. They share extended experience in printmaking, both as practitioners and academics, and bring a sensitivity to materials, a respect for process and problem solving and an appetite for the unexpected. Throughout their careers these artists have made artists’ books, a nod to the heritage of printmaking and its connection to the written word, and to books.
New Books/Old Hands offers artists’ books that speak about ideas, things, ourselves. The visitor will find poetry, pathos or humour but the fingerprint of the printmaker will always be evident.
Using different techniques Nathalie Hartog-Gautier offers a physical and conceptual journey questioning in a contemporary way the topics of the encounter as well as memory and identity. Her work has recently been acquired by Musée Carnavalet France, Gosford and Port Macquarie Regional Gallery, Art Gallery of NSW and NSW State libraries.
Searching through archives, image banks, memories and landscapes she looks for new ways to ‘see’ as an artist. This process of scanning allows unique connections between seemingly disparate elements that unify her own major themes and preoccupations. It is through this process of comparing her vision with that of others, that she attempts to depict nature in a new light as if seen for the first time.
Gautier-Hartog’s works is in prestigious collections in Australia and overseas. She is the grants from Create NSW, NAVA and the French Embassy in Australia as well as residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, Bundanon Artist in Residence, Hill End, The Farm Margaret River, Tweed Regional Gallery in Australia and the Palace of Versailles in France.
Michelle Perry is a Sydney based art dealer with a focus on Australian abstraction since the mid 20th Century and particularly on works on paper and limited edition prints. Michelle Perry Fine Arts incorporates the archive of Marnling Press, operating from 1983-2021, printing and publishing limited edition silkscreen and relief prints by significant Australian artists.
