Artist Booth Talk: Grace Lillian Lee

Join us at Booth B13 for a conversation with artist Grace Lillian Lee, discussing the exciting new work she is presenting at Sydney Contemporary.

Grace Lillian Lee is a pioneering Australian First Nations artist whose practice reimagines the traditional Torres Strait Islander “grasshopper” weaving technique through ambitious sculptural and wearable works. Her work explores identity, cultural continuity, and innovation, and is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the Art Gallery of South Australia. In 2025, she became the first Indigenous Australian designer to present an independent collection at Paris Couture Fashion Week, following her collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show.
