Join us for an unmissable In Conversation with queer early career artist Louis Grant and artist curator Consuela Cavaniglia. Grant’s practice moves fluidly between studio glass and interdisciplinary sculpture, foregrounding the importance of traditional craft skills while pushing the material and conceptual boundaries of contemporary glassmaking. This engaging discussion at Installation Contemporary offers insight into Grant’s latest body of work, which embraces the inherent instability and fluidity of glass as a metaphor for queer embodiment. The installation explores how glass can hold tension, vulnerability, and transformation within its very structure. Grant and Cavaniglia will delve into the ideas, processes, and material investigations shaping this ambitious project.
