| Brenda Colahan Fine Art was founded in 1998 as a comprehensive art consultancy specializing in independent art valuation and art advisory services. By 2017, BCFA had moved from Woollahra to open a gallery in Putney, one of Sydney’s most vibrant Northern suburbs. To coincide with our 2025 Sydney Contemporary presentation, BCFA again relocated to fabulous new premises on Gadigal land in Sydney’s Redfern. BCFA offers a range of curated group and solo exhibitions to an established and new collecting public-including many first-time gallery visitors. In doing so we have broadened the audience and support for Australian artists, and in 2026, we look toward to making their unique voices heard internationally. BCFA has always had a strong focus on women artists. In 2018, to mark Brenda’s 20-year anniversary in the Australian art market, BCFA held an all-woman exhibition, “20/20” which included curated works of art by 20 leading Australian women artists. This exhibition heralded and launched the future direction of BCFA – a representative gallery, which by 2021 included an exhibition program representing diverse practice, but with a focus on Australian women and Indigenous artists. By 2026, BCFA has held over 25 solo, duo and small group exhibitions from our roster, assisting in the formation of new collections which include emerging and mid-career talent, and attracting collectors and first-time buyers alike. Across 2024-26 BCFA welcomed new mid-career and established artists to our roster, whose works of art have been included in the most prestigious and critically acclaimed art awards, and within public and private collections. It is BCFA’s ongoing focus to promote a diverse range of Australian art to a wide audience, and to continue our particular support of female and Aboriginal artists and their exceptional insights. |
