Australian Print Workshop (APW) is a national centre of excellence for contemporary printmaking. Since 1981 APW’s prodigious cultural footprint in Australia and internationally has made an unrivalled contribution to the discipline of contemporary Australian printmaking and the arts sector.
APW has a reputation for excellence and innovation across the full range of its programs and services – providing exceptional opportunities and support for artists, communities, and audiences.
Development and presentation of bold and ambitious new work in the print medium is achieved through APW’s creative program of collaborative printing, exhibition and education programs, international initiatives, public art commissions, and community outreach to regional and remote destinations.
Supporting artists to create new work in the print medium is fundamental to APW. Artists who might otherwise be working in isolation are given significant opportunities for professional development, international engagement, networking, and mentorship through APW’s programs.
APW’s professional printmaking facilities include purpose-designed studios equipped with an exceptional range of printing presses and equipment. Supported by APW’s team of highly skilled printers and experienced print specialist staff, these printmaking resources uniquely position APW as a world-class contemporary print organisation.
