Jacob Hoerner Galleries presents the work of a specially selected stable of Artists working in a variety of media with a strong emphasis on the use of new mediums & innovative approaches to the creation of Contemporary painting.
Initially producing exhibitions while studying in Europe in the late 1990’s Hoerner returned to Australia in the early 2000’s and established his first commercial gallery in Melbourne in 2002 that was then renamed Jacob Hoerner Galleries in 2016. In 2027 Jacob Hoerner Galleries will be celebrating 25 Years of presenting Artists from Australia & abroad in Melbourne & Sydney and at times Europe & Asia.
In 2025 Jacob Hoerner Galleries opened a New World Class Exhibition Space in St.Kilda that was designed & built by the Award winning Architects Pleysier Perkins & in 2026 Jacob Hoerner Galleries will open a second concurrent ‘Viewing Room’ exhibition space in Prahran, also designed by Pleysier Perkins, as a more flexible & dynamic adjunct to the primary St.Kilda location and it’s Annual Program of 7 six week exhibitions.
Jacob Hoerner Galleries’ St.Kilda is Now Open for the New Year with the ‘Viewing Room’ Officially Opening March 28 2026.
Jacob Hoerner Galleries has participated & presented the work of Represented Artists at Art Stage Singapore (2015), Sydney Contemporary (2018, 2019, 2022, 2024), Spring 1883 Fair (2021, 2023, 2025) & the Melbourne Art Fair (2014, 2022 & 2024) as well as having produced several important exhibitions in Germany (2017 & 2022) & The Netherlands (1997 & 1998).
Jacob Hoerner has a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) from La Trobe University (1997-93), with a final year at the University of Amsterdam (1997), as well as a Masters of Arts Management and Curatorial Studies from the University of Melbourne (2008-04).
