Wyman is a palawa woman, with paternal descendants from the pairrebeener people of tebrakunna, and poredareme. She has maternal descendants from England. Wyman’s work focuses on patterns and masking to investigate visual resistance: specifically camouflage as a formal, social and political strategy in negotiating identity. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at Sullivan+Strumpf, Sydney (2021 & 2017); Commonwealth and Council, Los Angeles (2018 & 2015) and Milani Gallery, Brisbane (2015). Wyman participated in group exhibitions at IMA, Brisbane (2021); TRANSFER, New York (2019), and Chronus Art Center, Shanghai (2019). Wyman’s work has been collected by the Whitney Museum (USA), Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), National Gallery of Australia.
