Sheila Foundation: Talk and Exhibition

The VIP Program will visit 16albermarle Project Space in Newtown for two events. In the first, space director John Cruthers will talk about his ambitions to connect Australian audiences to southeast Asia through contemporary art, followed by a brief walk through of the current exhibition of Cambodian artist Than Sok. In the second event, Sheila board members will outline their Into the Light project, through which a cohort of researchers, writers and conservators work on recovering artworks by little  known women artists. Also speaking will be conservator Julia Sharp, who will outline a conservation project being used on one of Sheila’s paintings which will pioneer a new conservation technique in Australia.
