Introducing the use of the Gelli Plate – create one-of-a- kind, painterly prints using gelatin as a printing surface. Visitors will be invited to print and enjoy experimenting with textures, masking and stencils to create unique monoprints. Gelli plate is known in it’s ability to take on intricate detail from textured objects.
FPS will supply a smorgasbord of textures, from leaves & flowers to fabric, papers, old magazines, fruit nets, sponges, anything that makes a textured mark! The resulting prints can mimic traditional print techniques, whilst also enable expressive experimentation.
Young and old, new to printmaking and experienced, will all enjoy this chance to print a Gelli Plate monoprint on supplied cotton rag – participants can create artworks, folded cards or bookmarks.
