Agnes Christina is a Chinese Indonesian performer, performance artist and writer who also works in film, textiles and painting. Her work often deals with her experiences as a Chinese Indonesian woman, subject to pressures from her Chinese family and ancestors and to casual racism from the non-Chinese Indonesian population. Her performances and the works on paper that often accompany them have an honesty, subtlety and charm which are engaging and beguiling.
In her artist talk she will speak to her works on the stand and her performances later in Sydney Contemporary.
